Meet the coaches of Marble City Lacrosse

Our coaching staff is passionate about developing players on and off the field and growing the game of lacrosse in Knoxville and East Tennessee. With backgrounds as college athletes, high school coaches, and students of the game, we bring experience, energy, and purpose to every practice.

High School Travel Team

Bernadette Brezinski

Marble City Lacrosse Head Coach Bernadette Brezinski

Bernadette Brezinski is the Head Coach of the Marble City Lacrosse high school travel team, and the program co-founder. Bernadette moved to Knoxville from Baltimore, Maryland, where she grew up playing lacrosse. She played on the University of Tennessee’s club lacrosse team while she earned her bachelor's degree and is in the process of completing her Ph.D at the University of Tennessee. Bernadette serves as the head coach of the West High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team and has coached at several levels in the Knoxville community prior to her current role.


With over 15 years playing and coaching experience, Bernadette is passionate about helping young athletes reach their potential on and off the field. She is committed to building a program where players are challenged, supported, and inspired to grow.

Tyler Caviness

Marble City Lacrosse Assistant Coach Tyler Caviness

Tyler Caviness is the assistant coach of the Marble City Lacrosse high school travel team, and program co-founder.

Tyler was a four-year scholarship lacrosse player at Tennessee Wesleyan University and later earned his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Tyler is the assistant coach of the West High School girls’ varsity lacrosse team and also has coaching experience with Knoxville Youth Sports’ middle school girls’ team.

Tyler's passion for growing lacrosse in Knoxville was sparked by his oldest daughter's experience playing in the community. He is proud to help build a program that creates meaningful opportunities to compete, grow, and experience everything lacrosse has to offer.

Savannah Thomas

Savannah Thomas is the assistant coach of the Marble City Lacrosse high school travel team. Savannah grew up playing lacrosse in Canada before moving to the U.S. to play Division II lacrosse at Tusculum University. She was a 4-year starter on attack for the Pioneers and still holds school records for most goals in a game and most points in a game.
 
Savannah has over ten years of coaching experience in both the U.S. and Canada, and she currently serves as the Head Coach of the Farragut High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team in Knoxville.

Savannah is passionate about helping players sharpen their skills, build confidence, and compete at their highest potential. She is excited to share her experience to help athletes develop a love of the game.

Middle School Travel Team

Halle Hammond

Halle Brooke Hammond is the Head Coach of the Marble City Lacrosse middle school travel team. Halle grew up playing lacrosse in Atlanta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia before attending the University of Tennessee College of Law.

Halle has been involved in the Knoxville lacrosse community for several years, previously serving as a high school referee and currently coaching at the youth level with the West Knoxville Lacrosse Club.

Halle was raised by devoted coaches, and believes that the lessons learned through sports go beyond the field, shaping confidence, resilience, and character. She has seen firsthand the positive impact that team sports have on girls’ lives and is excited to create the same opportunities for her players.

Elementary School Travel Team

Halle Dykes

Halle Dykes is the Head Coach of the Marble City Lacrosse elementary school travel team.

Halle brings 12 years of playing experience to Marble City Lacrosse. She grew up playing in Maryland before continuing her career in Knoxville. In high school, she served as team captain, was voted an all-region midfielder, and scored over 100 career points.

Halle will graduate from the University of Tennessee in the Spring and pursue her Master’s Degree as a Volunteer in the Fall.

Halle is excited to help introduce young athletes to the game and create an encouraging environment where they will build confidence, learn fundamentals, and fall in love with lacrosse.

Gillian McAnally

Gillian McAnally is the Assistant Coach of the Marble City Lacrosse elementary school travel team. Gillian is a Knoxville native and was part of the early growth of girls lacrosse in Knoxville as a member of the first public high school club team. Gillian is pursuing trade school while working and coaching.

Gillian is passionate about introducing new players and helping them discover the confidence, teamwork, and competition that lacrosse offers. She is excited to grow the lacrosse community in Knoxville and help young athletes begin their lacrosse journeys.
